The Bible teaches that those in God’s own class of being, die like ordinary humans because they don’t get to know who they really are (Psalm 82:5-7). Many Christians think that Jesus Christ came to restore us to where Adam was before the fall. This is not true. As a Christian, you received something far surpassing what Adam had. Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God. The new creature is in the class of God. The Bible clearly states that, Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters (Hebrews 2:11, Matthew 28:10, John 15:5, 20:17, Romans 8:16-17, 29).

Scriptures also teach that death reigned from Adam to Moses (Romans 5:14). This is very interesting. Isn’t it interesting to note that death did not rule from Adam to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? Why up to the time of Moses? It is because of the Law. The Law had the capacity to produce gods; that is, persons in the very class of God. However, the Law failed to produce gods due to the carnality of those it was given to (Romans 7:14). The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). God did not create man with the intention that he was to grow old and die. It was sin that brought death. Thus, Jesus came to deal with the sin that produced death.

The Lord God speaking to Hosea revealed what destroys the people who are in His own family. He revealed that the lack of revelation knowledge is responsible for the suffering and destruction of His own people (Hosea 4:6). Jesus taught that those who believe His teachings; and live by them, will never die. “ I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone observes My teaching [lives in accordance with my message, keeps My word], he will by no means ever see and experience death” (John 8:51 AMP) “… whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?” (John 11:26 AMP)
